YOUR BOOK

There are a variety of reasons to write a book.

A book adds to your authority, because you’ll have a professional piece of work that you’ve created.

It can help you grow your business by sharing your message and bringing people into your funnel.

You’ll be able to land coaching clients when prospects can read about your process.

Writing a book will help you better understand yourself and your process. Organizing your book will force you to get clear on who you help, what you help them do and why.

A book allows you to share your message and information in another format. Different people enjoy different media. Some like audio. Some like video. Others like the written word. A book allows you to repurpose your content.

When you write a book, you also further establish yourself as an expert in your niche. A book give you credibility.

REPURPOSE YOUR CONTENT

When you repurpose your content, you maximize your time by making the content you create work harder for you.

Using content in a variety of places saves both time and money.

Repurposing allows you to reach more people in more places. It also gives you more time to work with clients and grow your business.

If you’re looking for an SEO boost by repurposing, don’t simply copy and paste. Change the content, so search engines aren’t seeing the same thing.

Duplicate content is penalized by search engines. Variety is seen as valuable. Therefore, search engines are more likely to recommend it.

WHERE DO YOU START

So where do you start repurposing your content and turning it into your book?

Repurposing your show notes is a quick and easy way to create your book.

Unfortunately, it isn’t as easy as pasting the notes together and calling it a book.

To be successful, you need to understand how to structure your book, create a logical flow of the content, and market the book to ensure you have an audience.

You can spend all of your time trying to figure it out on your own. Or, you can find an expert who is a master at the process.

JENNIFER HARSHMAN

My good friend Jennifer Harshman joins us on the show today to give you a head start.

She is an upbeat overcomer, language lover, and agency owner.

Jennifer Harshman taught herself to read and write when she was just three years old and hasn’t stopped, consuming nearly 19,000 books so far.

She began editing professionally in 1992, polishing more than 200 books and 30 million words since. If you want to write a book, this episode is packed with the information you need.

Jennifer’s program is called Your Book Bakery and helps you get your book edited and published with excellence and ease. In the spring of 2022, her students started calling her The Book Baker, and it spread from there.

As Robert Frost said, “Way leads on to way.” When our purpose is to serve and we’re open to the opportunities in front of us, great things happen.

Now is your time. Enjoy my conversation with Jennifer Harshman.
